TIMOR DOORS

These meticulously crafted Timorese doors, adorned with intricate designs and symbolic motifs, offer a captivating glimpse into Timor's rich heritage. Featuring geometric, zoomorphic (with crocodiles as a recurring theme, symbolizing mythological creators of the world), and anthropomorphic elements, each door tells a unique story.

Traditionally used in lopo (meeting halls and granaries) or as part of dwellings, they come in various forms—horizontal trapdoors for accessing different levels or classic vertical doors. More than functional pieces, they are enduring symbols of Timor's artistic legacy. Explore our collection and bring a piece of Timorese elegance and cultural depth to your space.
