This very old, large mask hailing from West Timor possesses a striking, weathered appearance with an ancient patina and traces of woodworm holes. Additionally, there is a small surface crack that runs vertically from the forehead, curves around the nose, and reaches the mouth. However, it's worth noting that this crack is superficial and does not affect the object's integrity or stability. Despite its age, the mask remains in good condition.

These masks were employed in ancient shamanic rituals, regrettably under-documented, as integral components of elaborate sacrificial ceremonies. The historical and cultural significance of these masks remains a captivating mystery yet to be fully unveiled.
