Lombok, an island east of Bali, has a rich artistic heritage shaped by indigenous Sasak traditions and influences from the Balinese Karangasem kingdom. Among its distinctive artifacts is the Pagoda Hat (Pure Songkok), a finely woven headpiece with roots in Balinese courtly attire, reflecting the island’s historical connections.

Lombok is also known for its betel nut crushers, essential tools in traditional betel chewing rituals. Often featuring elaborately carved handles, these objects served both functional and ceremonial purposes, embodying the island’s refined craftsmanship. From intricate metalwork to sculpted wooden artifacts, Lombok’s artistic legacy continues to be deeply tied to cultural identity and ritual practice.
